Discover This Sunscreen Using 5 Ancient Natural Ingredients

In the summer of 2024, my girlfriend & I went to Tenerife for a vacation.

I was genuinely feeling burnt out with life.

And the only thing I wanted to do was sit on the beach, sunbathe & read a book.

In fact, here I am doing exactly that!

Sitting in the sun makes me feel Vibrant! Joyful! Relaxed! Nourished!

The book I’m reading there is called “The Almanack Of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness” by Naval Ravikant.

A couple years prior, I learnt 2 major things from Naval.

  1. That true wealth = "A fit body, a calm mind, a house full of love. These things cannot be bought—they must be earned”
  2. To follow your natural curiosity

So, for the first time in too long, I followed my natural curiosity…

Which lead me to picking up that book.

I was so enjoying this book whilst sunbathing, I didn’t want to move!

In fact…

I didn’t.

Before I knew it, my silly self was sat in the sun for…

6 hours!!

And I didn’t wear any sunscreen.

Oh no.

I have always avoided sunscreen for the following reasons:

  • I don’t like the smell
  • I don’t like the greasy feel on my body
  • And I don’t like the toxic chemicals they’re made with

→ My intuition has always “told” me to avoid it.

But now, obviously, there’s a problem here…

Can you guess what it is?

My sunburn was AWFUL!

Genuinely, anytime I would move out of bed or go to sit down, all my skin on the front of my body would hurt.

After feeling this extreme pain, I knew I had to do something about this.

Yes the toxic chemicals in sunscreen are bad…

But not protecting your skin from sunburn is even worse!

My girlfriend asked me a very simple question question which triggered me…

“Why didn’t you wear sunscreen?”

After feeling frustration spike within me, I replied:

“Because I don’t like the toxic chemicals in sunscreen!

I want a good sunscreen made with natural ingredients… but that doesn’t exist!”

My girlfriend replied:

“Have you looked online?”

And so… the search began.

Here’s what I wanted from a sunscreen (we call it “suncream” in UK!)…

  • 100% natural ingredients that I know of (or at least I can pronounce)
  • Feels good on my skin, like a moisturizer (non-greasy)
  • Has a nice subtle smell

The closest I found was a product from VanMan.

He’s known to make great products with natural ingredients only.

(I use his “miracle toothpaste powder” everyday now!)

However, he uses beef tallow in his sunscreen.

And after doing a 1 month juice cleanse (no eating), I turned vegan so beef tallow is a no go for me… but that’s a story for another day.

After some more research (by following my natural curiosity)…

I discovered some incredible golden nuggets of ancient wisdom.

Now, this was all driven by 1 burning question I had & couldn’t find the answer too…

“What did our ancestors do thousands of years ago, to protect themselves from sunburn, when sunscreen didn’t exist?”

I found the answers I was looking for.

But before I share them, I want to quickly touch on a very important point.

Sunscreens include toxic cariogenic (cancer-causing) ingredients.

There is study after study after study online about this (research for yourself if you’d like).

I just want to share this:

This graph shows Melanoma (skin cancer) rates in the United States.

What happened in 1980?

The FDA approved the use of oxybenzone (known cancer-causing ingredient) in sunscreens.

Listen, Google won’t tell you on the surface that oxybenzone causes skin cancer.

But if you dip deep enough you’ll learn the truth.

Anyway… let’s get back on track.

Here’s what I learnt about our ancestors...

In 500 BC, Ancient Indians used Zinc Oxide, to reflect UV rays (preventing sunburn while the skin absorbs vitamin D).

In 3100 BC, Ancient Egyptians used the following natural ingredients for sun protection:

Rice Bran - to absorb UV radiation (preventing harmful sun rays).

Jasmine - to fix damaged DNA (healing any sun damage).

Lupine - to lighten skin pigments (balancing skintone for tanning).

In 10,000 BC, Ancient Africans used Shea Butter, to moisturize in the sun (preventing dry skin).

Alright! Now we’re cooking!

But wait, “what do I do with this information” I thought to myself…

Well, as it turns out, my girlfriend is a ‘master chef’.

She is absolutely incredible at making anything & everything you can imagine.

I on the other hand…

Am terrible in a kitchen.

Back at school, the best thing I ever made in cooking lessons was a fruit salad! (I wish I was joking).

So with her Graceful help, I set out to use these ingredients & make my own sunscreen!

I ordered the highest quality of each of these ingredients I could find & started right away.

I discovered that “cooking” is quite hard.

You need the right quantity amount of each ingredient.

Otherwise something like this happens!

The biggest challenge I found was I needed the sunscreen not to melt straight away!

While also being soft enough that I could easily scoop my finger in & have it rub on my body nicely.

I realized that Rice Bran was an issue, as I could only find Rice Bran oil.

This was an absolutely no-go.

Oil + sunscreen in sun = melting.

So I removed the Rice Bran oil.

But this is ok, as Zinc Oxide perfectly replaces what Rice Bran provided anyway (Reflects harmful UV rays).

However, the problem with the 5 ingredients our ancestors used as sun protection is…

There isn’t a base!

Base meaning, something to hold it all together (like glue).

I tried adding more shea butter, adding coconut oil, using beeswax…

Until…

I discovered Carnauba was the missing ingredient I was looking for!

Ancient Brazilians used carnauba (a natural wax) as a food source, but also to make things such as weaved baskets… incredible isn’t it!

So finally, after 10 attempts…

My perfect sunscreen was created!

My favorite 2 things straight away were…

  1. How quickly it rubs in…

And how amazing it smells! (thanks Jasmine!)

Let me summarize what this sunscreen actually is:

  • 5 ancient ingredients (proven to work for 2500+ years)
  • Vegan (all natural)
  • Naturally motorizing (thanks to shea butter!)
  • Waterproof (thanks to non-nano zinc oxide!)
  • Non greasy without leaving a white cast (natural ingredients don’t have chemical problems!)

This sunscreen is so healthy for you, the ingredients are edible!

Not only that, over the course of the summer I went from having pasty white skin…

To getting an incredible tan (thanks to lupine!)

Now I know the biggest question on your mind…

Does this sunscreen actually stop sunburn though?

Well, you should already know, I put this to the test!

I drew a square on my chest with a pen & rubbed my sunscreen on everywhere, outside of the square.

Then sunbathed in my garden for 4 hours.

Here are the results!

So there you have it!

You might be thinking…

“What SPF is this?”

Sunlight Vibration sunscreen has not been officially SPF tested. But other mineral sunscreens claim 15-20 SPF.

Because of this and the fact Sunlight Vibration sunscreen uses proven ingredients from thousands of years ago (not new age chemicals)….
